CARD: Lighthouse True North

Hi there!  Today's project is extra special as it was created in my new stamp room!  Yay!  It's been 2 years in the making, with a lot of blood, sweat and tears; mostly my husbands blood and sweat and my tears.  But it's finally useable!

This is another card where I implemented #loveitchopit by using the gorgeous Come Sail Away DSP. I also used the Assorted Memories and More Cards & Envelopes 4"x 6" card and covered the front in Night of Navy cardstock measuring 4" x 6".  The DSP is cut to 3 3/4" x 5 3/4" and adhered using snail.  A strip of Night of Navy is cut to 1 " x  4" and the sentiment is stamped in VersaMark, sprinkled in white embossing powder and set with the Heat Tool.  I then used the multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces of the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Bakers Twine to the edges before adhering it to the base.  On Whisper White, I stamped the light house image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy.  I then used a Blender Pen to shade the ink to enhance the shading.  On Crumb Cake cardstock in Grey Granite ink, I stamped the compass image from the same.  Using the Smooth Sailing dies, I cut out the lighthouse and the compass.  You may wonder how I did the compass since there's no circle in this die set.  I actually used the label die.  I cut one direction, then turned it 90 degrees and cut the other.  You'll notice tiny little notches in the four compass directions as a result.  The ships wheel is cut using the same die set and Night of Navy cardstock.  A small stampin' dimensional pops it off the compass.  The lighthouse, and compass are then adhered with more dimensionals.

You also notice that the layout for this card is the same as the layout for the Magnolia card I posted here.  Layouts can be adapted in so many ways, it makes creating multiple cards in different themes easy.  This is just one of the many tips you can expect to get when you select me as your demonstrator, or you join my team.
