CARD: Proud of You

I love participating in swaps.  It's one of the many perks to being a demonstrator and it's an easy way to get lots of samples and ideas for upcoming classes and events.

This past weekend, I participated in THREE different swaps.  All of them were centred around the new catalogue and showcasing some of the amazing new items.  You may have already seen one of my swaps as I posted it yesterday as part of the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.  If you missed it, be sure to check it out here.

The card I created for the second swap was inspired by a design a fellow demonstrator, Erica Cerwin, had posted.  Of course, I changed it up and made it my own.  That's another great thing about being a demonstrator.  We support and encourage one another; and we share design ideas.  You're never alone when you belong to my Stampin' Up! family.

I used the Noble Peacock suite of products for this card.

The base for the card is Crumb Cake.  I've then used the absolutely GORGEOUS Noble Peacock Specialty DSP in Pretty Peacock on top.  From the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets, I've cut out 3 of the leaves from the Detailed Peacock Dies.  I used the Stitched Nested Labels to layer Crumb Cake and Whisper White, cutting off the ends to create the straight edge.  Using Pretty Peacock ink, I stamped the sentiment and then punched a hole in the point (using a standard hole punch), before feeding a piece of the 1/2" Scallopped Linen Ribbon in Pretty Peacock and the 3/8" Reversible Ribbon through the hole and tying a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine around them to secure them.  A few of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones complete the look.

I had so much fun creating this and playing with the design.  I hope you've enjoyed it.  Remember, you can purchase any of the items used here by shopping my online store if you're in Canada. Simply click on any of the images below to be taken directly to the item.

Of course, don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to join my team Shut Up & Stamp and get EXTRA in your starter kit.  The cost to join is $135 and you'll get to chose $205 in product, you choice, and there's no tax and no shipping!  If you need more info, please check out the details here.

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop: Masculine

Well hello; and, thank you for stopping by!  It's time for another edition of the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop; and I'm so excited to share with you my creation this month.

The theme is Masculine cards.  I don't know about you; but, this is one I often struggle with.  My inkspiration came from fellow Demo, Alison Solven, I just tweaked the design to make it my own.

My favourite element is anchor and baker's twine because I put my Girl Guide skills to use and tied reef knots on either side of the anchor to give it a more nautical look.

"Left over right and under,
Right over left and under."

To compliment the card, I made this super cute treat dispenser.  The template is available for purchase.  All proceeds go to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in the name of my Father-in-Law who is losing his battle with Stage 4 prostate & bone cancer.

I hope you enjoyed this fun nautical card using the Come Sail Away suite.  Be sure to hop along with the other Demonstrators in the hop for more Masculine themed inspiration by clicking the button below.

CARD: Peacock Feather

Well hello and thanks for popping by!  I recently participated in a CASE (copy and share everything) swap with some of my fellow demonstrators.  As the name implies, the idea was to take a sample from the new annual catalogue and recreate it.  Did you know that our catalogues are a great place to find samples and inspiration for you to draw from?

I chose the square card from the Noble Peacock suite on page 25.  I'm very happy with how it turned out, though I think my creation may have slightly larger measurements than that in the catalogue.

If you enjoyed this project and seeing how you can use the annual catalogue for inspiration, be sure to stop by again as I'll be posting the projects I receive back in the swap.

You can purchase any of the items I've shown here today through my online store if you live in Canada. Simply click on any of the images below to be taken directly to them.  Orders over $25 will automatically receive my Top 6 Card Designs PDF at no additional charge.
