COLOUR CHALLENGE SWAP: Paw Prints on Your Heart

Good morning and thanks for stopping by.

I have another colour challenge swap card to showcase for you today.  If you've been following along, I hope you've found some great inspiration.  If this is your first stop, please check out my other posts over the last few weeks to see more colour challenge ideas for you to duplicate.

Today, I'm showcasing a card by Kim Stathakos that used the Happy Tails stamp set.  You may have seen this set in one of my previous posts.  I used this very same set to send a friend a sympathy card when she lost her beloved fur baby.  Today's card has a much happier feel to it though.

The base of this card is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half to create a card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Basic black cut to 4" x 5 1/4" creates a second layer.  On top of that is a very vanilla layer cut to 3 3/4" x 5" with a series of paw prints stamped in black.  Circles in bermuda bay, basic black and crumb cake are cut out using the big shot and the layering circle framelits.  The sentiment is stamped on very vanilla in Bermuda bay and then cut out using the stitched shape framelits.  The dog image is a 2 step stamp.  First the outline is stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink and the spots are then added in crumb cake.  A cute little collar is added in bermuda bay.  The dog house is also a 2 step stamp.  The house is stamped in bermuda bay and the wood grain and roof are added in basic black.  The final touch is a piece of bermuda bay ribbon.

If you've enjoyed this card, don't forget to check out my other posts.  To ensure you don't miss posts going forward, please subscribe to the blog using the sign up feature to the right of this post.
