CARD: Watercolour Dragonfly

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I'm sharing a project from my recent Watercolour class.  When I was preparing for the class, I stumbled across this card by Rose Coleman and had to try it out.

The card features a watercolour wash.  I've used the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and the Swirly Scribbles thinnest.  The sentiment is stamped using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  A touch of Wink of Stella adds some shimmer to the dragonfly and completes the card.  I'm super happy with how it turned out. Leave me a comment below to let me know what you think.

The base is basic gray 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded to be 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Next is a layer of flirty flamingo measuring 5 1/4" x 4".  On top of that is a layer of watercolour paper measuring 5" x 3 3/4".  Before adhering the watercolour paper to the flirty flamingo, I used an aqua painter brush and reinkers in berry burst, rich razzleberry and flirty flamingo to create a wash.  From silver foil paper, I cut out the large swirl shape.  The solid dragonfly image is cut out of velum and the detailed dragonfly is basic gray.  The dragonfly is then assembled and adhered with mini dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and the entire thing is assembled and topped with a brushing of Wink of Stella over the dragonfly.  It really comes together easily and the class attendees loved it.  I hope you do too.

Happy stampin'!
