Today I will begin sharing some of the swaps from a recent In Colour swap I participated in. The challenge was very simple, create a card using the retiring 2017-2019 In Colors: Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink. The card needed to have at least one layer, and use one embellishment.
The first card I’m showcasing was designed by Shirley Hannah and uses a unique fold that I’m going to have to try out myself!
It’s difficult to see in the photo, but the black flag with the sentiment on the front actually opens to the side, and then the card front, which is narrower than the base, lifts up to open. It’s a simple design that packs a wow punch.
The stamp set used is the Butterfly Gala stamp set from the Occasions catalogue and the coordinating Butterfly Duet punch. I absolutely love how the basic black makes the colours pop on the front and the heat embossed sentiment adds another layer of that wow.
