COLOUR CHALLENGE SWAP: You're a Classic

Good morning, and thank you for stopping by!  If you're new, welcome!  My name is Stephanie Nash and I am an independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Canada.  For those of you returning, welcome back!  I'm so glad you decided to stop by whether you've been here before or you're just happening across my site for the first time.

It's yet another snow day here in Hamilton, Ontario.  This will make the 5th day this month that the schools have been closed for inclement weather.  I would normally still have to go to my full-time job; but, as I'm currently suffering from a broken toe and have a large clunky boot cast, I decided trying to walk around in 20cm of snow wasn't a good idea and have joined in the snow day fun at home.
I don't mind as it actually gives me a chance to catch up on some blogging and crafting.  There are worse ways to spend the day, in my opinion.

Today, I want to start sharing the projects from a recent colour-challenge swap I participated in with other demonstrators.  I posted my project for the swap a few weeks back as part of an International Blog Highlights hop.  You can see the original post here.

The challenge requirements were to use the following colours:  Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Basic Black; and to use current Stampin' Up! products.

The first project I'd like to showcase was designed by Diana Langman.  She used the Geared Up Garage stamp set and coordinating framelits to create a super fun masculine card.  This would be great for a birthday, father's day, anniversary or any other occasion.

The card base measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" in crumb cake.  The next layer is actually made of two strips of bermuda bay measuring 5 1/2" x 1".  On top of that is then basic black measuring 5 1/2" x 3".  The last layer is very vanilla is measuring 5 1/2"x 2 3/4".  Diana then stamped the background on very vanilla in crumb cake using the Crackle Paint background stamp from the Occasions Catalogue.  The nuts are from Geared up Garage, stamped in bermuda bay randomly over the background.  On scrap crumb cake, stamp the car using Memento Tuxedo black ink, then use the Garage Gears thinlits and Big Shot to cut it out.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of crumb cake measuring 3/4" x 4"; and it is mounted on a piece of basic black measuring 1" x 4 1/4".  The sentiment is also stamped in the Memento tuxedo black ink.  A piece of linen thread is tied on the left end and then using your paper snips create the flag ends on the crumb cake and basic black.  Adhere the banner and card using dimensionals.  Diana also added some wink of stella to the wheels of the car for a little added pizzaz.

If you've read this far, thanks for hanging in there with me.  A full list of the supplies can be found below.  If you've enjoyed the post and want to ensure you don't miss out on future posts, make sure you subscribe to this blog using the feature to the right of this post.  You can also subscribe to my newsletter to the left of this post!

Happy stampin'!
