International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Well hello and thanks for stopping by!  If this is your first visit, WELCOME.  If you're a repeat reader, thank you for your support.

I have an amazing post lined up for you today.  You may remember that I had participated in the International Blog Highlights with Kylie Bertucci earlier in the month.  I am very blessed to have been recognized as one of the top ten winners and today's post is a hop with the 9 other talented demonstrators from around the world who were also recognized.  So be sure to hop along with everyone when you're done here.

For my project, I decided to use two new stamp sets from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, available June 4th.

The boat, birds and sentiment are from the Sailing Home stamp set.  I absolutely LOVE this nautical set.  The boat is anchored at sea using our new crumb cake/navy bakers twine and the adorable Sail Away trinkets.  The young boy on dad's shoulders is from the new A Good Man stamp set.  You're going to love this masculine set.  I used stampin blends in crumb cake, balmy blue, night of navy, basic grey, ivory and bronze to colour them in.  I also used the balmy blue and basic grey on the sail boat which I stamped in night of navy.  The waves were created using the Big Shot and Swirly Scribbles Thinlets.  I used the negatives in night of navy to create contrast to the balmy blue and give a sense of motion to the waves.  A little wink of stella on top gives them a shimmer like water.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Don't forget to check out the other talented Demonstrators in this month's hop.

Stampers Showcase: Fancy Fold Explosion Card

Good morning everyone.  Thanks so much for coming by.  I hope you're morning is off to a great start, if not, it's about to get a whole lot better!

Today, I'm participating in yet another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop with amazing Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world; and this month's hop is Fancy Folds.  I have to admit, this was totally outside of my wheelhouse as I don't usually do fancy folds; but I'm happy with my project and I hope you'll love it.

I've created an Explosion card, featuring the Crafting Forever stamp set.

I will be posting a youtube video later this week to show you all how you can duplicate this super fun, and easy to do, explosion card.  In the meantime, if you've enjoyed my project, be sure to check out my fellow hoppers by clicking the button below.

CARD: Cut to be Friends

Hi there and thanks for stopping by.  I was going to wish you all a happy Monday and realized that today is Tuesday.  I love how a holiday Monday can throw you completely off.

Today, I'm sharing another project from the InColor swap.  This card was designed by my upline, Jenn Tinline, and features the Crafting Forever stamp set.

Jenn has used the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock for the base.  It measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and it is folded to create a card 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Basic black makes up the next layer, measuring 4 7/8" x 5 1/4".  The whisper white layer is cut using the stitched rectangle framelits, the largest one.  The scissor image is stamped in tuxedo black memento ink; and the splatters are in lemon lime twist.  The floating square (popped up with stampin dimensionals) measures 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" in basic black and the whisper white is cut from the stitched shape framelits.  The sentiment is added and the scissor have been fussy cut and popped up using stampin dimensionals.  A piece of ribbon in lemon lime twist is tied around the handle of the scissors to finish it off.

This is a great card to give any of your crafting friends, or maybe even your hairdresser.  Who would you give this card to?

CARD: Lucky Kangaroo

G'Day stampers!  Thanks for hopping by.  Today I'm sharing another of the swap cards from the InColor swap I recently to part in.

Today's project comes to you from Kerry-Anne Humphrey.

If you've been following along, you'll know that the requirements for this swap challenge were only to use the retiring InColors.  Kerry-Anne has featured berry burst and lemon lime twist in this adorable card.
The card base is crumb cake, cut at 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” and folded in half to become a quarter fold card measuring 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”.  A matte in lemon lime twist measuring 5 1/4” x 4” is then adhered to the base.  Next, a berry burst layer 5” x 3 3/4” is embossed using the petal burst embossing folder and big shot.  The cute little kanagroo is stamped using the Animal Outing stamp set in tuxedo black memento ink and coloured using a blender pen and crumb cake ink.  You could also use the crumb cake stampin blends to colour this hoppy friend.  The sentiment is stamped in berry burst on whisper white using the Love What You Do stamp set.  This is cut out using the layering circles framelits and big shot.  The scalloped circle is cut using the same framelits in lemon lime twist.  Both the kangaroo and sentiment are adhered using stampin dimensionals to give them lift off the card front.  The card is finished off with a few of our basic rhinestones.

Overall, a super cute card that can be created in a short period of time.  I hope you liked it.

CARD: Beautiful You In Color

I have another project from the recent 2017-2019 InColor swap I participated in.  Today's project was designed by fellow demonstrator Frances Kerr.

The card base is whisper white cardstock cut to measure 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and it is then folded to create a card 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Stitched rectangle framelits cut the negative image along the left hand side of the card front and strips of the five In Colours, tranquil tide, berry burst, powder pink, lemon lime twist and fresh fig, are then alternated diagonally across the space.  The beautiful dancer is then stamped using tuxedo black memento ink and coloured using a blender pen and the InColours.  She is then cut free-hand and adhered the lovely dancer using stampin dimensionals.
The sentiment is inked using stampin write markers in basic black and berry burst by using the brush end to colour the words in the colour of choice and then "huffing" (blowing) on the ink before stamping.

I think the overall effect is lovely and I will be casing this design so stay tuned for more design ideas.

If you like this project, leave me a comment below to let me know.  If you don't currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and live in Canada, I'd love to become that person for you.

Happy stampin'!
