CARD: Fabulous Flamingo

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Today I want to share a super cute card I received from my Upline, Jennifer Tinline.  The card was part of a package I received for playing and winning a round of Bingo at OnStage in November.  You can see the items I received below.  I’ll be posting some pictures featuring projects using the stamp set I received, Follow Your Dreams, in future posts so stay tuned for some great ideas.

Now let's talk about this gorgeous card!  The stamp set is Fabulous Flamingo from the annual catalogue.  It is a photopolymer stamp set that allows you to build and layer the images or use them individually.  The bird is stamped on whisper white that has a granny green apple matte.  The card base is blushing bride with a layer of DSP from our tropical escape 6" x 6" paper pack.  Here's a closer look at the card itself:

The great thing about this stamp set is that the stamps are clear which helps you to align them perfectly to get the beautiful layered look.  BUT, even better is the Stamparatus tool that will ensure perfectly placed images every time.  For more information on the stamparatus, check out this short video.

If you love this card, leave me a comment below.  I'd love to see your creations using Fabulous Flamingo.

Challenge Accepted!

Thank you, for stopping by.  If you follow my Facebook or Instagram, you would have seen the December Challenge issued by Stampin’ Up!

Using only 1 stamp set, 1 ink and note cards you are to share your creations using #simplestamping.  I decided to give it a try.  I mean it’s supposed to be simple, right?

I found it to be much more difficult than anticipated, at least when it came to sticking to the 1:1:1 rule.  I really wanted to add an additional colour, or layer or embellishments.  In the end, here’s what I came up with:

I’m quite happy with the result.  I used a blender pen to colour in the beautiful hibiscus from the new Humming Along stamp set available January 3 in the new Occasions Catalogue.  I used circular strokes so it added dimension without going outside the parameters of the challenge.  Everything is done in the beautiful Highland Heather.

If you haven't received a copy of the Occasions catalogue and live in Canada, please send me a note with your address and I'll be sure to get a catalogue to you.

The card base is new too!  It's the new Happiness Blooms Memories & More cards & envelopes and they will coordinate perfectly with the Happiness Blooms Memories & More card pack, which is also seen here.

OnStage Swap: Who Needs Snow

I received this adorable little treat bag from Sheryl Logan, a demonstrator from Australia, that I was very fortunate to have sit at my table during one of the breakout sessions at OnStage.

This super cute little gift pocket features the So Santa stamp set and Under the Mistletoe DSP.

I absolutely LOVE that this cute packaging is made by simply folding the DSP.  Stay tuned because I think I might try my hand a doing a YouTube tutorial...and if I can't get that to work for me, I'll definitely do it in a Facebook Live over on my business page.

Paper Pumpkin January Teaser

Thanks for stopping by.  Today I have some exciting teasers for you about the upcoming Paper Pumpkin Kit.

If you don’t know about Paper Pumpkin, allow me to enlighten you before I get on with the teasers.

With Paper Pumpkin, you'll save time and money while you build a collection of crafting supplies. Every month you'll receive a unique stamp set with an ink spot (that won't repeat a colour in a 12-month period). In no time at all, you'll have a variety of stamps and ink to use on other projects. In addition, your first kit includes a free clear stamping block that you'll use every month.
Sounds great, right?  So here’s even more reasons to love it... and the sneak peek.  Perfectly coordinated products set Stampin’ Up! apart, and that unique offering is something that you will love! A great example is January’s Paper Pumpkin kit. It coordinates with the Animal Expedition suite on p. 26–27 of the 2018-2019 annual catalogue.

Subscribe early to make sure you’ll receive this adorable kit mid-January; our November kit sold out fast and people were disappointed. Don’t let that happen to you.

RAK: Thank You Card

One of the things I love most about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is sending cards, randomly, to friends and family.  There's just something about knowing I've taken the time out of my incredibly busy life to send a warm, heartfelt note to brighten their day.

I spend so much time creating and sending cards that I've actually forgotten what it's like to be on the receiving end.  That's why I was so very touched to have received the following card from my downline and friend, Lisa Hardie.

I was completely caught unaware when this beauty showed up in the mail this past week and I'm touched by the warm words expressed therein.  Lisa knows how much I love pigs, so she catered her design to really make it personal using the This Little Piggy stamp set.  I will definitely keep this card in a place of honour when my Stampin' Spot finally gets completed.

Have you ever experienced a Random Act of Kindness?  Was it just a service, or was it something like a card that you've kept all this time?  Leave me a comment below to share your experience.

Annual Catalogue CASE: Peaceful Poinsettia

It’s been a little but since I had posted my contribution to an annual catalogue swap that I had done organized by one of my sidelines.  The swap requirements were to CASE a card sample from the annual catalogue to showcase just how beautiful the projects really are.

This card was done by Diana Langman.  She chose the card from page 100 of the annual catalogue.  The sample uses the Stylish Christmas stamp set on page 101.  This stamp set is one of our Distinktive stamps and it’s simply gorgeous.

What do you think?  Leave me a comment below to share your thoughts.

If you'd like details on how to duplicate this, or any other project you see on my blog, send me a quick note and I'll help you with the details.

Colourful Seasons Christmas

I love stamp sets that can be purposed in many different ways.  The Colorful Seasons stampin set from the annual catalogue is one of these great sets that I believe gets overlooked.

That why I decided it was something I needed to use when coming up with project ideas for my recent Christmas Card buffet.

I love the simplicity of this card.  I used the three different snowflake stamps to stamp a random patter diagonally across the paper, high is beautiful in itself.  But I decided to step it up by using the stitched label thinlits and the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set to add a sentiment.  I was pretty pleased with how this card turned out as were the girls who joined me at the buffet.

I’ll have more buffets coming up in the New Year so check out my events calendar to the right of this post for up-to-date class dates and themes.

For more information on anything you’ve seen here today, please contact me for details.

If I'm Dreaming, Don't Wake Me

Once upon a time, an ambitions woman entered a successful store with a reputation for high quality craft supplies.  She walked up to the wonder and said:

"Sir, I am very impressed with your establishment.  I'd like to come on board and build a career here.  I can promise you I'll work hard and I'll do a great job.  In return, all I ask for is the following:

First, I'd like 20-40% profit on everything I sell.  And the same discount for products for my own personal use.
I expect free training, product knowledge, company and personal support to give me the confidence to grow from where I came, to be the best I can be.
Then, if I bring in new sales people, I think I deserve 2-4% of everything they sell.  Now when I do well, I expect lots of praise and recognition - not to mention products, special awards and gifts - oh yes, and dream vacations to exotic locations!
By the way, I'm afraid I'm not into the 9-5 scene, so I'll set my own hours and work when it suits me best.
Of course, my family always comes first!
Okay, I think that's about it...so when can I start?"

After the storeowner recovered from shock, he roared with laughter - Lady, you can't be serious!  You're living in a dream world.  You'll never find an opportunity like that anywhere!

He was wrong.  That woman could have been me.  I found that opportunity as a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!

If you would like more information on how you can take advantage of this same opportunity, please ask me for a free, no obligation information package.

OnStage Swap: Light of Heaven

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have all recovered from Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.  Did anyone find any too good to miss deals out there?  I wasn’t brave enough to head out shopping; but I did manage to get a few things online.  Now I just have to pray that they arrive on time and that the Canada Post strike hasn’t affected things too badly.

Today’s project is a swap I received in Orlando, created by Vicki Howie whom I was fortunate to spend quite some time with.  It was wonderful getting to know her and learn about her family and day-to-day life.  Vicki is actually a fellow Canadian currently living in the USA, so it was quite interesting to learn of her experience with the move and how her family have adjusted to everything.

This card features the Star of Light stamp set and coordinating thinlets6844.  I love the pop of cherry cobbler to brighten this card right up.

What are your thoughts?  I’d love to hear from you.
