Happy New (Catalog) Year!

Wahoo!  It's time to celebrate a new year at Stampin' Up!; and that means a new catalog!!!

The annual 2016-17 Catalog had arrived and I'll be honest, it's going to be really hard to decide what to get!

You'll notice a few changes to the catalog this year; but the biggest may be that a lot of punches retired with the 2015-16 catalog and have been replaced with framelits for the Big Shot.  This isn't a bad thing IMO.  Firstly, framelits are more user friendly.  You can line up and position them exactly where you need them; they take up WAY less space and frankly, they're easier to use too!

The 2016-18 In Colours are fantastic!  They might just be my new favourites.  I know beyond a doubt that Daper Denim will become a go-to colour for me.  What's your favourite in colour?

I guess that's a short and sweet look at what's new.  I'd love to hear what products you're most excited to try from the new catalog.  Leave me a note and let's see if there is a common thread!

Happy Stampin'

5 Year Stamp-a-Versary

Today marks a milestone for me; I have officially been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 5 years!  That old adage of "time flies when you're having fun" has definitely applied in this instance.

It's hard to believe it's only been 5 years as I feel like I've been part of the SU family for so much longer.  And, I guess I really have been if you count all the time I was a customer prior to signing up as a demonstrator.  I really do love this company and everything it has to offer!

Here are some things I've learned along my journey so far:

Confidence Wow, this is so huge.  I can feel a change in myself with my comfort levels with people.  There is something about teaching people about what you love that builds confidence in yourself.

Craftiness  Ha!  I know, you all think I was crafty before becoming a demo!  Not at all!  I still don’t think I really am, but I do come up with more ideas of my own.  Thank goodness SU embraces the CASE philosophy "Copy And Share Everything

Goal-Setting -  Of course this is something that I have done previously in my life, but I love exploring it at new levels.  It pushes me to reach the next SU reward level and see how far I can go!

Balance -  Finding that work/life balance is a challenge.  Whether I work FT out of the home or FT at my SU business, it can be a challenge to find the right balance.  Crafting is my escape.  Having “me time” refreshes me, and I can be a better mama and wife while enjoying teaching and doing something worthwhile.  I’m a much more well-rounded person for it.

Loving what I do -  If I didn't have SU in my life I really think I'd be at a loss.  Not only do I get paid to share my passion with others and teach them new techniques and skills; I have made some wonderful friends along the way.  Stampin' Up! really is a family.  My fellow demonstrators, the people and head office and my customers have become friends.  Being able to say you love what you do isn't something that many people can say and mean.  I REALLY do mean it.  I love being part of this great company and meeting new people along the way.  I can't wait to see what the next 5 years bring.

#imbringingbirthdaysback

Shannon West from the Stampin' Up! Home Office has started a fantastic campaign that I'm super excited about, " #imbringingbirthdaysback".  Social media has made it far too easy to be impersonable with your birthday wishes.  We often don't celebrate birthdays with greeting cards; but, everyone I know loves to receive happy mail!

As your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and lover of handcrafted cards, I am joining the campaign and supporting it by sending off lots of cards during 2016. If you'd like to be added to my list, send me an email with your birthday, name and address!

Not only will my family, friends and clients receive a personalized, heartfelt birthday wish, I'll also be giving business to Canada Post, whom you my know has had its struggles as of late.  I am encouraging you all to share the love with your family and friends throughout the year.  Don't forget to include the hashtag #imbringingbirthdaysback on your cards and envelopes.  I'd love to see what everyone comes up with!

Happy Stampin'!

Out of Commission for a Bit

Thanks for stopping by.   I know it's been sometime since my last post.   I'd like to say I have a great reason other than life,  but I really don't.   Three kids, a full-time job and a husband who travels makes it difficult to sit down and do the things I love,  like updating my blog showing you the great projects I've come up with.   What makes it even more difficult is the fact that I've broken my right wrist.   No stamping for this crafty mama for 6 to 8 weeks.   I have to say this really sucks especially because it's the best time of the year, Sale-a-Bration!

I'm looking at this as positive as it will give me more time to update the blog with some project ideas that I've come up with in the past, as well as posting our weekly deals and ideas from our artisan design team.   While I'm recovering though I'd love to see your creations.   Send me a note with pictures of what you've been making and I'll update them on the blog.  You can also update my Facebook page.   I love seeing your ideas and what you're creating.   Even more so now as I need to live vicariously through You!

Don't forget you can still shop online or send me an email to place your orders and take advantage of free product during sale-a-bration!
